Where Do You Get Fermenting Bacteria?

The bacteria that do the fermenting are naturally present on the plants. All they need are the right conditions to do their thing. In fact, manufacturers and scientists have tried to inoculate foods such as cabbage with bacteria, in an attempt to better control the fermentation and final product. Nothing was successful. Natural was better.
